We believe an AI tutor should do more than just generate questions and give pupils the right answer.
What if it could help them explore new concepts and guide them through problems – even when they’re struggling?
What if it could do all this for a fraction of the cost of traditional tutoring and with unlimited reach?
Introducing Skye, a new AI voice tutor built on a decade of maths tutoring experience.
We’ve taken all the data, insights and expertise we’ve gained from the last decade of delivering online maths tutoring to schools and developed an even more affordable option.
Skye, our audio-based AI maths tutor, works one to one with pupils, guiding them through personalised and engaging lessons – just like our community of tutors, but more accessible for school budgets.

Same curriculum: AI lessons use the same scaffolded “I do, we do, you do” slides as our tutor community
Same pedagogy: tutoring from Skye is still assessment-led, student-centred, and builds on prior learning
Same impact: pupils do just as well or better on post-session assessments
More flexibility: start times, duration and frequency are all more flexible than before
Better attendance: scheduling and rearranging sessions more easily means more attended sessions
Lower cost: with Skye, schools can support even more pupils for a fraction of the price
Unlimited reach: support as many pupils as you like, all year round, for one affordable fixed cost

We’ve always existed to make one to one maths support a reality for as many schools as possible, but with budgets stretched thinner than ever we knew we needed to do more.
With Skye, schools can support as many pupils as need it, with as many sessions as they need, for one yearly price.
After thousands of hours of testing and development, the first primary schools trialled Skye in the summer term of 2024, providing essential feedback to help us make Skye as effective and engaging as possible.
Today, Skye is is delivering 400+ one to one maths tutoring sessions each week to Year 6 pupils in schools from Portsmouth to Newcastle.
Skye is built on a system prompt that shapes the behaviours of a pedagogically sound tutor and ensures responses are effective, adaptable, and aligned with safeguarding standards.
Prompts are broken down by slides and concepts, and leverage insights from thousands of traditional tutoring sessions to highlight the best ways to teach concepts and address common misconceptions.
AI tutoring sessions can only be scheduled by teachers to take place on school premises under the supervision a staff member.
Our highly moderated AI model controls what content can be covered by Skye, who can only access learning content created and controlled by our academic team of former teachers.
Let us know how many and which pupils in your school would benefit from additional one to one maths tutoring and we can discuss how Skye (or tutor community) can support you best.
Unlimited one to one tutoring; as many sessions for as many pupils as needed
A lower cost option for schools and Multi Academy Trusts
Developed by maths teachers for maximum academic impact
Built using insights from 2 million one to one tutoring sessions in schools

How does Skye compare to human tutoring?
Our AI tutor builds on the same proven tutoring model we’ve used to support schools since 2013. It’s designed to offer a similar one-to-one experience, personalised to each pupil’s needs, with the added benefit of being more affordable, flexible and scalable.
How does tutoring from Skye work?
Just like with our traditional tutoring, schools will choose how many sessions they’d like to run each week and a regular timeslot that suits their timetable. They’ll then add pupil profiles select a programme for each pupil. Before their first session, pupils will sit an online diagnostic assessment to identify gaps. Pupils will then log on to their devices at the scheduled time, where Skye will communicate with them via a shared screen and an audio connection.
Can the AI tutor adapt to suit different needs?
Absolutely. Skye is designed to personalise teaching based on real-time feedback and formative assessments, ensuring teaching is in each pupil’s Zone of Proximal Development.
What happens if a pupil gets an answer wrong?
Just like our community of tutors, Skye has been trained to identify and address common misconceptions. The prompts used relate to the specific question and topic being covered, so if a pupil gets an answer wrong Skye will be able to spot why they might be struggling and guide them to success. First, Skye will provide a hint relevant to the part they got wrong, to try and steer them towards the right answer, and then asks them to have another go. If a pupil gets an answer wrong 3 times, Skye will talk them through the correct answer and make sure they understand before moving on.
Is the AI tutor aligned with the national curriculum?
Yes, Skye uses the same lessons as our community of tutors, all of which have been developed by our academic team of former teachers and follow the national curriculum.
What safeguarding is in place?
Safeguarding by design:
Sessions with Skye can only be scheduled by school staff for a timeslot chosen by the school and always take place on the school premises under the supervision of school staff. The connection between pupils and Skye is audio-only, with no video connection. The only visual component is via the shared screen which only ever shows lesson slides created by our academic team. Skye cannot display anything else on the screen.
Built-in safeguarding:
We use a highly moderated AI model which places guardrails around the content that can be covered and how Skye engages with pupils. Additional guardrails ensure the lesson cannot be moved off the maths tutoring content that Skye has been trained to cover.
Red flag policy:
Just like our tutor community, Skye has been trained to flag anything that could be linked to safeguarding. All sessions are recorded which enables us to review flagged sessions and, where relevant, share recordings with the pupil’s school.
What do schools need to implement AI tutoring with Skye?
Just a device and a microphone headset for each pupil, an internet connection and a space for pupils to sit comfortably spaced apart to minimise background noise. These requirements are the same as for our traditional tutoring, and no extra hardware or software are required. If you do not have microphone headsets, we can provide these.
