Triangular numbers or triangle numbers are numbers that can be represented by an equilateral triangle. A sequence of triangular numbers can be created by starting at 1, then adding 2, then adding 3, then adding 4 etc.
By writing the sequence as a number pattern using a number of dots and adding a new row of dots each time, a triangular dot pattern is formed.
Looking forward, students can then progress to additional number worksheets, for example a Rational And Irrational Numbers worksheet or a Standard Form worksheet.
