They follow the national curriculum, and are are matched to the White Rose Maths scheme of work and most other maths mastery approaches teaching KS1 and KS2 addition and subtraction.

Addition and Subtraction Worksheets KS2

Key Stage 2 introduces pupils to more complex addition and subtraction problems, and more sophisticated methods of solving them. Lower KS2 (Years 3 and 4) focuses on bringing children up to speed with column addition and subtraction and solving problems involving three and four digit numbers, while upper KS2 (Years 5 and 6) looks at multi-step problems and addition and subtraction involving rounding, decimals etc.

Addition and Subtraction Worksheets Year 3

Year 3 is the first time pupils will encounter the formal written method i.e. column addition and column subtraction. This coincides with their beginning to solve problems using larger numbers, and learning to estimate answers based on their knowledge of number facts before solving formally.
