We asked our schools to let us know how their Year 6 Third Space Learners got in their 2025 maths SATs.
78% of the pupils receiving tutoring in their schools reached the expected standard in maths.
This is in comparison to 74% of pupils nationally who reached EXS in maths in 2025.
9 out 10 teachers felt the tutoring helped their Year 6s achieve higher maths SATs scores than they would have otherwise.
“We used AI maths tutor Skye this year. 93% of our Third Space Learning pupils reached the expected level. The tutoring helped pupils achieve higher scores as it built condidence and provided additional practice. One child who had been struggling with maths attained at greater depth with a scaled score of 110.”
Deb Harris, Assistant Headteacher
Wormley CE Primary School
“I would recommend Third Space Learning to another school. We love it, it always helps. This year, 90% of our Year 6 Third Space Learning met the expected standard. It improves attainment through increasing confidence and strengthened key number skills, and improves engagement through self-belief.”
Alison Walsh, Headteacher
St. Augustine’s Catholic Primary School
“One child has just come up to me – he got a scaled score of 108 and was working towards at the start of the year – he just said to me ‘I think tutoring really helped’. The tutoring plugged gaps and boosted confidence, helping pupils achieve higher scores than they would have otherwise.”
Louise Ince, Deputy Headteacher
Our Lady’s School
“We have used Third Space Learning for a number of years now and always pleased with the results. The SATs programme is based on the most common topics and it’s helped pupils do better in SATs this year. It’s one-to-one so pupils are not as shy to ask questions and the tutor only has to focus on them and their individual needs. As they improve they believe in themselves more and then try more difficult problem solving in class as well. Gaps are filled so they have stronger foundations to build on. All our children are happy to attend the sessions. One child moved from 91 scaled score in Autumn term and received 107 scaled score for 2025!”

“We had 20 Year 6 pupils receiving the online tutoring in the lead up to SATs and 18 of them met the expected standard in maths. It gave them additional learning time on a one-to-one basis. It helps that children are asked to read out the questions and explain their thinking. The children have always really looked forward to the sessions. For our ‘cuspy’ children, they achieved better than cuspy SATs results.”
Ruth Noall, Headteacher
Peasedown St John Primary School
“We had some really hesitant children with maths, they have made great progress! Overall, 88% of pupils receiving the tutoring met EXS in maths. The regular, well-paced sessions resulted in plugging gaps. We can’t wait to continue with this next year!”
Lee Clayton, Year 6 Teacher
St William’s Bradford
“We used Third Space Learning to support our more able pupils. They all achieved greater depth. The use of vocabulary helps prepare them for SATs – they need to explain thinking process. I’d recommend Third Space Learning to other schools.”
Andrea Jaeger, Assistant Headteacher
Moor Nook CP School
“The tutoring allows for a slower pace than in class, meeting their individual needs and helping them achieve higher scores. We look forward to working with Third Space Learning again next year.”
Mary Hamilton-Eadie, Deputy Headteacher
