Specialist maths tutors trusted by thousands of maths teachers and parents across the country.
This provides the opportunity for a large number of children to engage in bespoke maths tuition at the same time. The children are engaged throughout and are more willing to acknowledge their weaknesses with a stranger than they might be in the classroom.

Here at Third Space Learning, our community of specialist maths tutors has been supporting primary school pupils across the country with online maths tuition since 2012. We’re passionate about maths tutoring and our mission is to make sure as many pupils as possible have access to high-quality online lessons from experienced tutors.
Teachers and parents want what’s best for their pupils and children. When it comes to maths, we believe that means choosing a maths programme that’s delivered by maths specialists. All of our experienced tutors have undergone specific training in delivering one-to-one maths tutoring to Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils.
Our online lessons give pupils the opportunity to talk through maths questions and build key numeracy skills with their own personal mathematics teacher.
Tutors ask questions like 'how did you work that out?' and 'could you use any other methods?' to ensure pupils have understood the underlying maths behind each question, not just a quick way to find the answer.
One of the biggest things that holds maths students back is a lack of confidence to try. With Third Space Learning's maths tutors, pupils have a safe place to attempt questions, even if that means making a mistake.
Instilling this confidence early on leaves pupils better prepared as they move up the school and tackle things like entrance exams, GCSEs and A-level maths assessments.
Whilst maths success extends beyond getting good grades, practising exam techniques is a great way to help children feel confident for any upcoming tests.
Our online lessons are designed to make sure pupils fully understand each topic before moving onto applying that knowledge to exam-style questions, helping to build familiarity and confidence.
In maths, if pupils don't feel engaged with the lesson then they are more likely to switch off and lose concentration.
In a class of 30 this can be hard to do, but with Third Space Learning, pupils have the full attention of one private maths tutor, working at their own pace, building a rapport and making each lesson as engaging as possible by linking it back to their hobbies and interests.
How much does maths tuition cost
Maths tuition with Third Space Learning costs from £9.99 for each online maths lesson. This compares with £25 to £50 that is usually charged by maths tutors teaching online or face to face.
Are your maths tutors qualified teachers?
All of our specialist maths tutors take part in our Global Tutor Training Programme. This provides specific training to deliver effective one-to-one maths tuition according the English National Curriculum.
What ages do you support?
At the moment, lessons are available for primary school pupils and for pupils in Year 7 with outstanding gaps from Key Stage 2. Our GCSE maths programme will be available from January and we hope to offer support for A-level maths in the near future.
Do you offer exam revision programmes?
We currently offer a specific Key Stage 2 SATs revision programme for both schools and parents and are launching a brand new GCSE revision programme in January. For GCSE and IGCSE students, our maths programme will be suitable for all exam boards; AQA, Edexcel and OCR. We do not offer further maths or university-level maths tuition.
Third Space Learning encourages children to talk about their maths. It enables them to think aloud with the tutor and this then transfers to their independent work. It gives children much more confidence in their own maths ability!
The children love Third Space and it really supports what they do in class, filling in their gaps in learning and building their confidence. The fact that children have to speak with their tutor and explain their reasoning, develops confidence and their use of mathematical vocabulary.
Third Space Learning gives individual children personalised attention to their needs to move their confidence and academic achievement in maths forward.
Nothing but excellence. A personal service with brilliant tutors all of whom my little girl loves. Such a positive maths experience.
I researched a number of online sites before engaging TSL for maths tuition for my granddaughter. I have no complaints - the admin side went very smoothly and her tutor has been professional and patient. When I needed to change the time of a session this was arranged quickly. Above all the price is very reasonable.
